Our weekend consisted of a hodge-podge of FUN. Brian and I had an AMAZING date on Friday night. We went into town and had sushi at Nakama. I love it there. As a stay at home mom, when we go out, I really have no desire to sit in a quiet or stuffy restaurant for date-night. I want loud, fun, tons of people, great food… you get the idea! Nakama is just that, not to mention, you’re bound to see ‘someone cool’ too – In our case, Pouncy from the Pittsburgh Steelers. We ordered the ‘Nakama Sushi Platter’ and there were at least 40 pieces of sushi on it. Brian’s fav was the salmon and mine was probably the crab ~ mmmm. I love that my husband loves sushi because its by far my favorite food! It was such a beautiful night to walk the streets after dinner. We chatted, stopped into the ‘S Bar’ and had a cocktail, looked at desserts & chocolates through the window of a cute little store (& didn’t stop because we were beyond stuffed) ~ It was just great. The whole night. I love being married to Brian. and I love that its still so much fun to flirt with him too ; )
I’m still reminiscing about Easter weekend… It was so wonderful! The time spent with family, good food, good conversation & fellowship, lots of play time & cute Easter outfits too — Not to mention, I still can’t believe my 2 little guys kept their white Easter pants CLEAN all day long! Yes, its the little things that make me happy! Like the fact that they also wore their hats the whole day too! Priceless.
I’m losing my patience today. Actually, I’ve lost it. Its gone. I can’t find it and you know what? I’m not even gonna look for it. If I don’t sit down right now, I know one more thing will happen and I’ll be pushed over the edge today. I know the saying goes, “God only gives you what you can handle.” Well, guess what? I can’t handle MY DOG anymore. Beau is driving. me. up. a. WALL. He adds so much un-needed stress to my day and I seriously need him out of here. In fact, so much so, I put him outside this morning and shut the door. Yep, I did. I shut the door. He stood there and I went upstairs to put Roman’s clean quilt on his bed. Then, I ran the vacuum on the 2nd floor. Rocco let him in. Lucky dog, he knew I had no plans of doing such a thing. I think people just think I’m kidding about needing to find another home for this dog but I’m not! Oh trust me, I’m not kidding. You see, as if you don’t know this: Our patience as mothers is already tested on on day to day basis with our children. In my case, one that entered the ‘Terrible Twos’ and another who is exiting the ‘Terrible Three’s’ and entering into the ‘I found my attitude’ stage. Its amazing, I’m obsessed with my kids, but they absolutely test me and my patience at least once per day. Now add my DOG to the craziness of 1046 and its enough to make me want to punch a hole in the wall (and then eat a couple candy bars). Read the rest of this entry
As I was washing dishes on Thursday Night, I realized I wasn’t hearing the typical boy noise I usually hear when Brian is home from work. On a typical spring evening, he arrives home, changes his clothes, devours his food then takes Rocco & Roman outside to play. It gives me a little ‘down time’ to check my e-mail, do the dishes, put laundry away, etc. before the night routine. Surely they must be up to something because no noise is no good (at least at 1046). I walked to our side window that overlooks the driveway where the boys ride their bikes. No sign of my 3 guys. Check out the front door. Again, no sign of my 3 guys. I walked to the back of the house and peaked out of the sun-room windows. There in the distance, were my 3 guys all in white shirts. I could spot them quickly while looking at the green and brown landscape. Watching them walk through the woods made me grin from ear to ear. I knew my husband was in his glory and seeing them together makes my heart happy! I snapped this picture and it made me think; this is why I blog. I blog so I can remember and I know when I look back on this picture, I’ll remember how I felt when I took it: So happy. So proud. So content.
I realize I haven’t posted in a while. A LONG while. Its been bittersweet but I sure do miss you and miss chit-chatting with all of you! HOW ARE YOU? I’ve been doing the usual: Spending lots of time with our little family of 4, focusing on getting healthy & well again, keeping up with house and home, cooking, cooking, baking, cooking… and of course, shopping for good deals too! If you follow me on FB, did you see the Kate Spade Sheets I found at TJMaxx? Gosh, I love that store! And I washed them in Lavender… holy moly! Its a good thing I have 2 toddlers or I’m not sure how I’d get out of bed in the morning! You need to check your local store for them!
I love the little e-mails and questions I’ve been receiving too! Its sweet to know you care about my thoughts and opinions! Flattering to say the least! My latest question was about what to put in a toddlers Easter Basket. Share your thoughts if you have any good ideas! Maybe I’ll post on that soon… Though I haven’t turned the ‘answer’ to your questions into blog posts – I did reply and I’m proud of that! haha ANYWAY, this weekend is Rocco’s 4th birthday weekend! FOUR!!! I can’t believe it- our 1st born. I attempted to create and bake a Pirate Ship Cake for him (his 1 and only birthday request)! Oh wait, and a “huge squirt gun”… The cake turned out pretty good! Wanna see? Find ‘Where The Piggy Toes Go’ on Facebook and check it out 😉 I’m off to clean up kitchen & home and get ready for our families to celebrate Rocco today! Thanks for sticking around with me and checking our page for updates! I’m still here and alive & I promise to share the fun we’ve been having SOON! Hope you all are doing well! Miss you lots!
